The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority

The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA) is tasked with ensuring good market performance. Authority oversees compliance with competition rules and consumer protection legislation, makes investigations of competition and consumer protection, and influences the development of legislation through initiatives and opinions. The objective is to create healthy and effective markets in which companies and other operators act responsibly and in keeping with consumers' interests.

The FCCA employs approximately 200 specialists. The average age of staff is about 44 years and about 80% have a higher university degree. Depending on the job, the work involves, for example, market analysis, negotiation, decision-making, and litigation.

Based on the 2018 job satisfaction survey, there are meaningful and challenging jobs in FCCA, a good work atmosphere, and nice and fair colleagues. Training and development are invested in, and it is possible to reconcile work and private life flexibly.
