Maarit Elomaa

My tasks include maintaining the matriculation examination register and preparing exam results. The Matriculation Examination Board currently employs two registrars. I am also part of the mailing team, which packs and sends out the examination questions and receives test answers from schools.

Maintaining the register requires me to be thoroughly familiar with the matriculation examination system and the rules and regulations concerning the examination, and to understand the examination as a whole. Our schedules are tight, so the work requires speed, flexibility and precision.

I was originally employed by the Matriculation Examination Board over twenty years ago for a data entry position. I passed my own matriculation exam in 1985.
Now we are about to face new challenges as the matriculation examination is being digitalised.
