Teija Tepponen

Teija Tepponen works as public guardian at the Central Finland Legal Aid Office.

“A public guardian manages the client's property and finances. Although our customers vary, they all have one thing in common: they are unable to manage their personal affairs for health reasons.

Typical duties include managing bills and compensation applications related to our clients' finances, debt arrangements and representing the client in legal transactions requiring authorisation, such as buying and selling shares in housing companies and single-family homes, and the division of property and distribution of estates. Such work is highly diverse on the whole.

Public guardians can plan their working days themselves, but their plans can change in a matter of minutes. Achieving concrete results is the most rewarding aspect of this position.

I hold a Bachelor's degree

and wish to continue in duties that involve supervising the interests of another party. The State is a good employer and the possibilities for training and further development are excellent.”
