Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea
The Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea is an agency operating under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. We regulate medicines, medical devices, blood and tissue products, and biobanks and develop the pharmaceutical sector. As a Fimea employee, you will be able to participate in effective work to promote the health of the population.
We currently employ around 340 people. Our personnel are highly educated: three out of four Fimea employees have a university degree, and of these, one in three has a scientific postgraduate degree. The most common fields of study are Pharmacy, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Financial and Administrative Sciences and Law.
Fimea employees are typically specialists in their fields and are involved in the assessment of the quality, safety and efficacy of medicinal products, or in research, manufacture and supervision of the distribution chain in the field.
Fimea offers an insight into developments in the pharmaceutical and medical device sector. We have an active role both nationally and internationally and are closely involved in the EU’s medicines regulatory network.
Work at Fimea is flexible and not tied to a specific location. Remote work is possible in most positions, and we provide our staff with modern tools and a virtual working environment.
We offer good opportunities for education as well as employee benefits, such as exercise and wellbeing benefits, comprehensive health care and an opportunity for subsidised meals at work.
