Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority

The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) is an authority responsible for the steering and supervision of electronic communications and postal operations. FICORA functions under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. FICORA was established in 1988 under the name of the Telecommunications Administration Centre. The name was changed to the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority in 2001 as the field of responsibilities expanded.

We ensure that telecoms operators provide well-functioning, affordable and secure telephone and internet connections for anyone to access. We create the right conditions for new wireless services. We also make sure that you can watch television and listen to the radio, and that the mail delivery functions everywhere in Finland.
