Artturi Jortikka

Artturi works as a Senior ERC Officer at Kerava ERC. Before his career as an ERC Officer, Artturi worked for six years as an ambulance driver in the public and private sectors. Artturi is a qualified practical nurse, ERC Officer and shift manager.

“I applied for an ERC Officer's post in the former Helsinki ERC when I was finishing my studies, and got the job on the morning of my graduation. A Senior ERC Officer's work is challenging, interesting and diverse. The centre never closes, operating in three shifts every day of the year. The work requires patience, fast reactions and the capacity to adapt to quickly changing situations, the ability to work at any hour, and naturally an interest in the field.”

In terms of advice for new ERC Administration employees, Artturi would like to point out the importance of having a sense of humour and adopting a no-nonsense and open attitude.

“The best things in our office are the fantastic co-workers, the brilliant rhythm of shift work, the exemplary occupational health care arrangements, and the gym available at the workplace. In five years, I hope to still be working in the same office, hopefully as Shift Manager.”
